42 Weeks.
The hospital called and said that I should come in today and bring my stuff because they might keep me for an induction. I called my midwife and she said not to go. She explained that she understood that it can get scary when an “authority” tells you what to do but that we sent me to get the test to make sure everything is healthy and because it was, she does not think that is necessary. She said that we know the baby is okay and active and that she is not a stickler for dates the way hospitals are. I am thankful that she is so supportive.
No baby, obviously, but since my Mama has been here we have accomplished a lot:
- New Rug
- Painted and hung 2 mirrors
- Found and painted a small bookshelf that became our entertainment center
- Found awesome wall art and decorated our place so prettily
- Found an amazing butcher block island for the kitchen
- She bought organizational supplies and then organized our kitchen cabinets
- Grocery and household supply shopping
- Bought house plants
- Hung pretty lighting
- Did laundry
Today we are going to to the city to get some herbs from China Town and then going to the Salvation Army to pick up the rocking chair that we bought earlier in the week. I am hoping that all of the walking will stimulate Little Man’s exit, but I am not holding my breath.
Pregnancy has become a state of being for me now. It just “is.” I am told one day that it won’t be any more but since I can’t actually wrap my head around it, I am just enjoying the time with my Mother and I’m thankful that I still get pretty good night’s sleep.
